Maggie Anderson

A graduating senior at Colorado State University, Maggie is completing her Bachelor’s degree in Health and Exercise Science with a minor in Nutrition. Despite only starting rugby in her sophomore year, Maggie has become a cornerstone of her team and community—embodying leadership, dedication, and heart in everything she does.

From the moment Maggie stepped onto the pitch, her passion for the game was clear. She quickly took on leadership roles, becoming not only a team captain but also the travel and safety officer. In both roles, Maggie has made player well-being a top priority, implementing new safety protocols and ensuring every athlete feels supported and protected. Her leadership goes far beyond the tactical—she creates a culture of trust, accountability, and genuine care.

Maggie’s impact is deeply felt by her teammates and peers. She constantly uplifts those around her, offering encouragement and motivation not just to her own team, but to the broader rugby community. Whether it’s cheering someone on at practice, helping a new player get started, or organizing recruitment events, Maggie’s enthusiasm for the sport is infectious. She’s introduced countless students to rugby through awareness campaigns and recruiting initiatives, helping them fall in love with the sport just as she did.

Off the field, Maggie is just as impressive. Her vibrant personality and tireless commitment to others make her a role model in every sense. Maggie also dedicates time to promoting women’s sports and advocating for more visibility and support for female athletes—a mission she carries out with relentless energy and passion.

Next, Maggie will be heading to the UK to pursue her Master’s in Exercise Rehabilitation at Loughborough University, where she’ll continue her rugby journey with the Lightnings. We have no doubt she will keep making waves, both on and off the pitch.
