National Collegiate Rugby – Competitions Intern

National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Competitions Intern to support the Men’s and Women’s Directors of Rugby in executing critical components of competition oversight. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to contribute to weekly competition tracking, coach engagement, and content sourcing to elevate the NCR brand across digital platforms and regional events.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coach Poll Management: Assist with weekly coach polls by distributing ballots, collecting responses, and organizing results for publication.
  • Score Tracking & App Accuracy: Monitor and track weekly match scores across all divisions. Identify and flag missing or inaccurate scores within NCR’s mobile app. Follow up with teams and regions to ensure scores are submitted within 24 hours post-match.
  • Score Entry Support: In cases of missing scores, interns may be granted access to verify and input scores directly into the system, ensuring timely and accurate data entry.
  • Social Media & Content Scouting: Monitor team and club social media accounts for relevant game updates, standout performances, or compelling stories that could benefit NCR’s marketing or media presence.
  • Trend Spotting: Gather insights, trends, or emerging narratives from team accounts or competitions that could be leveraged for promotional or engagement opportunities.
  • Event Support: Represent NCR at regional competitions and events as needed, assisting with operations, reporting, and brand presence.
Qualifications:
  • Interest in a career in sports, preferably with an understanding or enthusiasm for rugby.
  • Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive attitude toward solving problems.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace and mobile applications; experience with social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook) is a plus.
  • Availability on weekends and evenings may be required for event coverage or score tracking.
