National Collegiate Rugby names 2021-22 Scholastic All Americans

8 August — National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) named 472 student athletes as 2021-22 Scholastic All Americans. This annual program recognizes high performing student athletes across college rugby.

The Scholastic All American list includes 99 women and 373 men from over 140 schools and all levels of rugby. To qualify as a Scholastic All American, student athletes must maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher for the academic year and be rostered for 50% of the Fall 15s A-side matches or rostered for 50% of the A-side Spring 7s tournaments.

The Brown University men’s team named 22 Scholastic All Americans, followed by Bowdoin College and Yale University with 16 each. Drexel University and Georgetown University honor 13 and 12 student athletes respectively. Over 100 other men’s programs also recognize Scholastic All Americans from the past season.

Amongst women’s programs, Loyola University (MD) placed ten student athletes on the Scholastic All American list. Four women’s programs named seven Scholastic All Americans, including Grace College, Grand Valley State University, University of Northern Iowa, and Endicott College. Over 30 other women’s programs were represented in the Scholastic All American program.

We congratulate each of these student athletes on their academic success, which they achieved while balancing the demands of weekly training, long weekends to away matches, and the regular physical and mental recovery from seasonal  matches. ” said Jeremy Treece, National Collegiate Rugby CEO.
